About

Book Meg to Speak

Hello, I'm Meg Durham, Wellbeing Speaker and Host of The School of Wellbeing Podcast.

My Teaching Background

For more than a decade, I taught Physical Education and Science in classrooms across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Those years gave me a deep understanding of the intensity, responsibility and joy that come with school life.

My Education & Expertise

My curiosity about human behaviour, biology and the connection between physical health and wellbeing has shaped everything I do.

I first studied a Bachelor of Physical Education (Secondary) at Deakin University, then a Master of Education (Student Wellbeing) at The University of Melbourne.

Wanting to explore further, I completed a Certificate in Positive Psychology with the Wholebeing Institute in the USA. Each step added a new layer to how I think about what it means for educators to live and work well.

My Approach…

When I work with schools, I bring a refreshing mix of practical strategies, humour, research and lived experience.

I have spent thousands of hours alongside teachers and school leaders, which means I can translate big wellbeing ideas into everyday actions that make sense in the realities of school life.

School leaders often tell me that working with me is one of the most rewarding parts of their role because it gives them and their hard-working staff a safe space to connect, share, laugh and reflect on their own wellbeing.

My Values

At the heart of my work are three values: integrity, growth and service.

These values are woven through everything I do, whether I am speaking at a conference, facilitating a workshop, recording a podcast or working closely with a leadership team.

What I Believe

More than anything, I believe that if we are serious about student wellbeing, we must take staff wellbeing seriously.

“Meg Durham is an experienced speaker who has been able to preserve her authenticity and natural connection to herself to create an atmosphere of closeness and intimacy with her listeners.”
